This is how you can exercise a recourse (filing an application) at the Régie du logement.

  • You can present yourself at one of our offices where an employee will give you information and will assist you, if you wish, in completing a form used to exercise a recourse. Costs are exigible for filing an application and these costs vary according to the nature of your application. For more information about these costs, please take a look at the schedule of costs exigible.

  • You can download from this Web site a form used to exercise a recourse, complete it and mail it to the Régie du logement with the costs exigible. However you must be careful because there are conditions and procedures to respect concerning the exercise of a recourse at the Régie du logement.

After that step, you will have to serve your application to the other party. To know more about serving an application, please take a look at the heading Serving an application.

Please note that section 57 of the Act respecting the Régie du logement provides for the possibility of joining applications between the same parties so that they can be heard at the same time, in the case where the questions at issue are substantially the same or for matters which might properly be combined in one application. A motion for that purpose may be presented to the Régie du logement. The motion will be heard by a commissioner, who will render a decision in light of the evidence submitted and the rules of law in force.
